Sometimes, accidents, tooth decay, or other oral emergencies cause you to lose teeth, leaving gaps in your smile. Dentures are a great way to fill in those gaps.

There are two kinds of dentures, partial dentures and complete dentures. Partial dentures fill in one or more missing teeth in a row; they attach to the remaining natural teeth on either side of the gap. Complete dentures suction to the roof of the mouth, replacing all of your teeth. Both appliances offer natural-looking results.

It is important with dentures to maintain immaculate oral hygiene. To do this, brush your gums, tongue, cheeks, and roof of your mouth before putting in your dentures. Repeat the process when you take them out for the day. This will stimulate tissues, assist in preventing halitosis, and will help prevent plaque buildup.

Rinse your dentures to remove any loose food or debris, then brush your dentures using a soft-bristled toothbrush and a non-abrasive cleaner. When you are not wearing your dentures, store them covered entirely in water. This helps prevent them from warping.
